What to Do In Less-Traveled California

There are tourist hot-spots galore up and down the coast of California, but there are also some less-traveled places that are worth making a pit stop for. These five cities are filled with fun things to do for every kind of traveler. Here are the reasons why everyone should visit these under-the-radar Cali cities.

Temecula

Temecula, California is a town like no other. Its diverse range of things to do and places to see makes it a great destination for just about anyone. After you check into one of these hotels, be sure to head to Old Town Temecula. Here it will feel like you took a time machine back to old western times when cowboys and indians ran rampant. Temecula is also home to an abundance of wineries, some of the best being Wiens Family Cellars, Wilson Creek Winery, Vindemia Estate Winery, Leoness Cellars, and Danza del Sol Winery.

San Bruno

Located near the popular San Francisco, San Bruno is a lesser-known California town, but there is plenty to keep you occupied here. San Bruno Mountain would be the perfect daylong excursion for avid hikers and nature lovers. From the top you can actually see the best view of downtown San Francisco. For a fun shopping spree, make a trip to the Shops at Tanforan. Win back all the money you spent at Artichoke Joe’s Casino before heading back to one of these popular San Bruno hotels.

Morro Bay

Morro Bay might be the best California destination for travelers who love the outdoors. Here you’ll find numerous opportunities for hiking, biking, kayaking, rafting, and just taking in the natural scenery around you. The things to add to your itinerary are Morro Rock, Morro Bay National Estuary, Morro Bay State Park, Museum of Natural History, Morro Strand State Beach, and Anchor Memorial Park. There are also many boat tours offered here that will allow you to experience the wildlife and scenery to its fullest. North Hollywood

Hollywood is the land of filmmaking and movie stars, so be sure to take advantage of this during your trip.  You’ll want to check out some of the top studios in the area, such as Universal Studios and Warner Bros. Cambria

Just like much of California, Cambria is a great place for some outdoor adventures. Soak up the sun at Moonstone Beach, or visit the famous Piedras Blancas Lighthouse.
