Italy, but Where?

(5 photos)
We awoke on the morning of July 30, 1985 in the beautiful town of Siena, Italy, and spent the night of July 30 in Assisi. According to our Travel Journal, during that day we visited Siena, Monteriggioni, Montalcino, Chianciano Terme, Perugia, and Assisi (and perhaps a dozen more). These photos were taken at one of those cities, or somewhere in between, so take your choice. I sure wish I knew exactly where these photos were snapped.

The bricks used to build the city of Siena are made from the burnt Siena-colored earth, so there is a very good chance that the third photo is of the city gate at Siena. Most of the buildings in Assisi are built with a beautiful pink stone, but it is very much different from the Siena-colored bricks. This certainly does not remind me of any place we have seen in Assisi.

The only thing I recognize about the following two photos is the date. Again, these photos were taken somewhere in the neighborhood of Assisi or Siena.
