Greece

Giannitsochori, Boat Repair

GR_Giannitsochori_Boat_Repa.jpg

We followed a sign toward a campsite last night, but the road was just so rough we gave up. Then we decided to look at the beach area, and found a nice place along with seven other campers, and a man rebuilding his row-boat. Spent a couple of hours talking to some nice people from Nürnberg, Germany. They gave us a lot of information about other places to see in Greece, and we told them about our trip so far.

Gunter and Effie spoke English very well. They have a very nice camper, and have visited Greece several times. They said they don’t like to camp in Italy anymore, because of its reputation for robberies, etc., and they said the Italians are not as friendly now as they had been a few years ago, before the prices got so high.

One time they were talking to some other campers when one of them said they had camped many places, such as Morocco, Tunisia and Poland, but had their camper broken into while camped in Munich. Gunter and Effie said they were embarrassed to hear that story.
