Paris, Sainte - Chapelle, Window

Sainte - Chapelle is located slightly west of Notre Dame Cathedral on the Ile de la Cité (Island of the City), an island in the middle of the Seine. This view, toward the rear of the Upper Chapel, shows Gothic architecture at its most daring and successful. The Lower Chapel, built for the servants, is reached by a winding stone stairway and is only twenty-three feet high. The small stained windows in the Lower Chapel are located between garishly (but beautifully) decorated columns and arches
This rose window was redesigned in the flamboyant style in the 15th century.
(Sorry about that little smuge on the left!!)
