Boat Travel in Germany

Germany - Bodensee, from Konstanz to Meersburg, Twice: We rode the ferryboat across the Bodensee to Meersburg and found a parking place easily. They were having some kind of festival, complete with a band and crowds of people.

Germany - Ferry across the Main River, at Kitzingen: A very small ferryboat. There was only room for our RV and two other cars. A wedge of swans swam with the boat.

Germany - Puttgarden, to Rødby Havn, Denmark: We expected to catch the 7:55 AM ferryboat but when we arrived at the dock at 7:10 they took our money and waved us right on the earlier ship.

Germany - On the Rhine: With several of Emmy’s Cousins as companions, we went from Bingen to Bonn, on about a seven-hour Rhine River cruise.

Germany - Travelmunde, to Gedser, Denmark: For reasons we never knew, an East German helicopter circled our ferry, and used a loudspeaker to shout something to the Captain on the bridge of our ship.
