Ghent, Town Square

The diners on the second floor of the McDonald’s restaurant in Ghent have this view (Ghent’s town square) — as remarkable as any to be seen from a McDonald’s, anywhere in the world.
At the street market in Ghent, Emmy bought a smoked Mackerel, some olives, American cheese, sourdough bread, and cherries. A young woman at one booth was broadcasting her sales pitch in a rhythmic manner. A man nearby said it was a sing-song sales pitch about the low price, and good quality of her herring.
The campsite in Ghent was located near a mile and a half long water sports area called Watersportbaan, where they have boat races of some kind. There are scenic views in Ghent that are as interesting, but not as famous, as the street and canal scenes in Brugge.
