Honfleur, Harbor

Honfleur.jpg
Since the English Channel tide goes in and out a great depth each day, Honfleur’s harbor has a canal-lock to keep the larger boats afloat while the tide is out. Small boats, docked outside the harbor, are built with “legs” and “feet” so they will rest on the mud and remain upright during low tide.

One year we spent the night in a campsite near Honfleur that was rather new (it looked like it), and rather isolated (we thought) and the operator was rather crabby (of that we were sure).
