Yosemite National Park

Yosemite, Bridal Veil Falls

The volume of water falling in the many waterfalls in Yosemite National Park varies from month to month, depending on the amount of rain, and the amount of melting snow in the mountains. When we were there early one spring, after a winter with heavy snowfall, a Park Ranger said there was water falling from more than a dozen waterfalls that normally have no water.

Another view, maybe same visit, maybe not.

We have visited the park in several different months in many different years, and I wish I could find photos taken during each of those visits, so I could compare the look of the falls, one year to another. Bridal Veil got its name from the days when a strong wind blows, when there is a large volume of falling water. The way the falls is located on the sheer cliff, exposes the water that falls, to strong winds. Beautiful.
