Paris, Tower, Bridge, Cathedral

The tower on the extreme left is part of the bridge (a pylon topped by a stylized statue of Sainte Genevieve, the patron saint of Paris), the tower faintly seen near the left edge of the photo, is the Eiffel Tower. Paris is just filled with things to see, and here we see the Eiffel, the Seine River, Le pont de la Tournelle (a graceful bridge), and the Notre Dame Cathedral.
Some friends (two couples, in two different years) who visited the Cathedral told us they were unaware it is located on an island. I guess when there is so much to see from the Tour Bus window, it is easy to be distracted by all the captivating sights, and not notice you have just crossed a bridge to the Ile de la Cité, as the island is known.
Ile de la Cité, is joined by Pont St. Louis (bridge), with another island, Ile St. Louis, the location of some very expensive homes and famous restaurants. The bridge in the photo, Le pont de la Tournelle, connects Ile St. Louis (on the right) with the Rive Gauche, the Left Bank of the Seine.
Those two pillars that seem to support the middle of this bridge, are a photo mirage. They are really supports for the Archvêché bridge, the next one downstream, that connects Ile de la Cité, with its Notre-Dame Cathedral, to the Rive Gauche, the Left Bank of the Seine.
