NIMES
The spring still trickles from the mountainside,
The Roman baths and pleasure walks still stand.
The temple where Nemausus must preside,
Nemausus of the spring, from whose vast hand,
Poured water for this consecrated band.
Till every marble basin had its fill,
The greatest work the Roman consul planned.
The mighty Tour Magne on the hill,
O'er looks the country side, and stands there watching still.
The colosseum built for bloody sport,
Where gladiators fought and beast were slain.
Whose monoliths served later for a fort,
Still stands preserved while generations wane.
The temple of Apollo, where remains
Relics of every place and ages.
Which seem to fill with wonderment this ancient fame
Still makes the visitor, as in a dream,
Observe two thousand years of history in Nimes.

MONTE CARLO
Monte Carlo's quite a place,
To go to spend your money.
If you look round from face to face,
You'll see a lot that’s funny.
The girl who has ten francs to use,
The man who thinks he's winning,
The one who's just began to lose,
The gaudy wheel still spinning.
The lady in a heavy veil,
Who will not show her features.
Each gamblers face may tell a tale,
They are amusing creatures.
