Paris, Restaurant le Consulat

One of the most renowned neighborhoods in Paris is Montmartre, with restaurants, shops, homes, nightclubs and the nighttime entertainment district of Paris. With the dome of Sacre Coeur in the distance, Restaurant le Consulat gets it’s picture taken a lot. It even appeared in a FedEx ad for several months. During our first visit to Paris, we found ourselves in a traffic jam right at the spot this picture was taken, several years later. Parked cars blocked half the street, for a while it seemed we would become part of the landscape. For a better view, this picture was taken with one foot on a concrete post, the other on a bumper of a truck.

A couple of times when we visited Montmartre, we have been foolhardy enough to park our RV in a tourist bus space, and the Gendarmeries have been kind enough to ignore our transgression. Narrow tractor-pulled, multi-car tourist trains deliver tourists who had the good sense to park further away.
