Emmy’s cousin Monika was married to Henri in St. Thivisiau’s, which is just across the street from where Henri’s parents lived above their grocery store. A shaft of sunlight shining through a high stained glass window, spot-lighted the bouquet of gladioli in front of the altar. Two large candlesticks stood to the left, and the scene was backlit by the stained window just beyond the altar. A moment later, the spotlight disappeared.
