Odessa, School Building

SU_Odessa_School_Building.jpg

As our tour bus drove down a city street in Odessa, the tour guide pointed to a building on our left, and said it was one of the many high schools (he used a different word, but said it meant high school) in Odessa. I quickly pointed my camera toward the building, and to our surprise, and the surprise of our guide, there was a United States Flag visible through the second window from the right. We wondered what that was doing there. We would have loved to attend that class, and add our comments to whatever the teacher said. This was in 1989, while the Berlin Wall and the iron Curtain still stood.
