Vignettes from Jim and Emmy's years of travel

Palma, Majorca, Arches

E_Palma_Majorca_Arches.jpg

This is a photo snapped for no reason except the scene looked interesting. This photo captured our interest by the number of arches — both in stone and in shadow. Now you know, not all arches are Golden Arches.

We were told that on Sunday morning we might have problems finding a taxi to the Barcelona airport for our flight to Palma. Just our luck, within moments a taxi stopped and took us to the airport in time to catch an even earlier flight. We spent a couple of days in Palma, Majorca — resting, walking, and looking.

We enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Palas Athenia, and our walk here and there in Palma, but it was raining as we walked up the hill to Castle Bellver. Stair steps most of the way, but still hard work. We flagged a taxi for our ride from the hotel to the airport, and were early for our scheduled flight, so we caught the 12:10 plane to Barcelona, instead of waiting for the one we had scheduled. Doesn’t that sound familiar! Our RV, which was waiting for us at the Barcelona campground, was a welcome sight. Home is home, wherever it is.
