Campsites,Czech Republic
The Caravan Campingsite was in a handy location, just west of downtown Prague. BUT, the facilities were a stinking mess. The woman cleaning the restroom had a mask over her face, so we expected the worst, and that’s what we found. The building was rather new, and down the hall from the smelly restrooms there was a nicely decorated bar, with a fireplace. Amazing how they will take care of the bar area, and let the other facilities get so filthy.
The Prague campsite where we stayed two different years, is located in Branik, eight miles south of downtown, on the Vltava River, at the streetcar stop for line 3 and 17, a 12¢ ticket from downtown. Both years I bought bar-b-qued chicken and French Fries at the campsite restaurant, to eat at “home” for one of our nights here, and all was well.
In Plzen, the man in an antique store gave us directions to a nearby campsite. It was almost empty, but it looked like some people on the other side of the campsite had no clothes on. Then we saw a sign that said “Solorium,” or something like that. From the distance we could see nothing of “interest,” so since they stayed far away, we stayed. We know who would have won, had there been a pageant of some kind, that night.
